New York at dusk, taken from the top of the Rockerfeller Centre. No tripods were allowed, but I was able to use a Gorillapod which was essential for the 4 second exposure. There was no glass to shoot through, but the best viewing spots were mobbed and people were jostling to get images with their mobile phones. Because of this and the windy conditions, I shot this scene multiple times to get one sharp shot.

New York sits on the Island of Manhattan, the island was purchased from American Indian people in 1626 for about 1000 $ in modern currency. New York was originally named New Amsterdam. New Yorkers drink almost 7 times more coffee than other cities in the US. There is a skyscraper on Thomas Street that has no windows, it was designed to be self sufficient and protected from nuclear fallout for two weeks!
