PAGB Inter Federation Projected Image Competition July 2010:
 

This event started in February at Harlow when, from all participating clubs in East Anglia, the Norfolk Photography Group were selected along with Breckland Imaging Group to participate in the Inter Federation Competition.
This meant that we two clubs competed with the top two clubs from all the other federations throughout Great Britain, together with the eight finalists from last year, which included The Beyond Group.

NPG finished in 6th place.
We saw some brilliant images and have held our own against the very best photographers in the land. We felt that we had done more than well to have achieved this honour and of course we have pre-qualified for next year's event.
Smethwick PS and Wigan 10 finished 1st and 2nd.

  
 

Print Competition (Internal) May 2010:
 

Two categories were judged by David Saunders CPAGB:

STILL LIFE:
Third place was "Red white and blue"  by Siriol Lea.
Second place was "Stone Beauty" by Gail Buckingham.
First place was "Study in terracotta" by Dawn Osborn.

OPEN:
Third place was "Stumps at Thornham" by Tony Luxton
Second place was "Pheasant" by Pat English
First place was "Wind and waves" by Bob Whitbread

  
 

East Anglian Federation PDI Championship 2010:
 

Norfolk Photography Group had another good day in the EAF competitions at Harlow in February.
In the Projected Digital Image competition held in the morning, the Beyond Group took first place, Breckland Imaging Group came in second and we came third just one point behind.

These three clubs will therefore represent the EAF at Warwick in the National Championships to be held in July. Please let Joy have your very best images for fine tuning of our entry. Only those images that have already been judged at the Warwick event are ineligible.

More good news - congratulations to Kevin (Elsby) who gained a Selectors award for the image "Waxwing" in the Print Competition where we came in with a very creditable fifth place.

  
 

St. Ives Interprint Competition, February 2010:
 

The Norfolk Photography Group came 4th out of the 31 clubs competing, with 68 points, just 3 points below the winner. As usual the competition was fierce with only eight prints from each of the 31 clubs and we thoroughly enjoyed all of the images on display prior to the judging.

During the evening we viewed the digital files of the prints accompanied by some very discerning remarks from the Judge for the event Roger Parry. Roger is a member of the PAGB Executive and Chair of the PAGB Judges Selection Sub-Committee and a member of the Licentiateship panel of The Royal Photographic Society.

  
 

Cambridge Digital Competition, January 2010:
  The Norfolk Photography Group won the Cambridge Digital competition on 23rd. January, with a score of 91 points out of a possible 100, with a lead of 6 points over the second placed club Bottisham & Burwell.
Breckland Imaging Group came joint 3rd. with Swavesey camera club (last years winner).

The images in the competition were:-

Dr.Kevin Elsby with Waxwing, all receiving a maximum score of 20points.

PAGB Great British Cup, 2009:
  The Norfolk Photography Group entered the Great British Cup this year for the first time and finished in 23d place! This competition involves most major photographic clubs in Great Britain, and apart from Cambridge, no other East Anglian club scored better than we did, so well done to all who entered.

In the separate Natural History section of the Great British Cup, which was adversely affected by the bad weather of this winter, we came a magnificent joint 12th out of the 81 clubs competing. It is clear from the number of joint placings and the tight marking that competition was fierce.

St. Ives Interprint Competition – 28th February 2009:

The Group finished in 8th position with 62 points just 2.5 points behind the winners Cambridge Camera Club with 64.5 points. 30 clubs competed.
As the scores suggest the competition was fierce with the final scores extremely close with only 4.5 points between the top 10 clubs.

4-way Digital Battle:

The Nottingham round of the first 4-way battle with Ilkeston, Derbyshire, Nottingham Outlaws and March, Cambridgeshire took place on the 19th. February, 2009 at Nottingham. The judge was Bob Rowe.
The results were as follows –

1st Norfolk Photography Group 255 points
2nd Nottingham Outlaws 247
3rd Ilkeston 242
4th March 231
Our leg of the battle with Ilkeston Derbyshire, Nottingham and March took place on 27th February 2009. David Saunders of Lowestoft was the Judge. The results were:
1st Nottingham and Norfolk tied 230 points
3rd March 219
4th Ilkeston 206.5
Running Totals – Ilkeston 448.5; March 450; Nottingham Outlaws 477 and Norfolk 485.

Cambridge Digital Competition – January 2009:

The Group did extremely well in their first venture into digital competition. The Norfolk Photography Group finished 4th just 2 points behind the winners. The judge of the day – Don Byatt, ARPS MPAGB selected Arctic Terns Fighting by Kevin Elsby, ARPS as the best image of the day.

St. Ives Interprint Competition – February 2008:

Members of the Norfolk Photography Group competed against 30 of the strongest Photographic Clubs in East Anglia in the prestigious St. Ives Interprint Annual Competition. The competition was fierce but at the end of a full evening of judging we were pipped at the post by just one point by the largest Club in East Anglia – Cambridge Camera Club. The results were as follows –

1st Cambridge Camera Club 66
2nd Norfolk Photography Group 65
3rd Swavesay Camera Club 64
As runners-up the Group were presented with a cup to mark their achievement.
