“On Thursday 2 June the meeting will be devoted to selecting our club entry for the PAGB DPI Competition which will be held atWarwick University on 16 July 2016. We would like to encourage as many of you as possible to attend at The Act Centre , Aylsham.
Please bring along any DPI images you have which have been successful in exhibitions/competitions or which you think may be worth considering.
If you are unable to attend but have images you would like considered please email them to us at email@example.com in good time before the day of the meeting so they can be included.
We have gathered all images which were in the portfolio for Warwick 2015 but were not used and any images used for this year’s EAF competition which scored 12 and over. This should give us something to start with (35 images) but we need to have your very best offerings to add to this to enable us all to select our best 40 images to submit. From these 40 we will then have to select 8 images for Round 1, which we have to send off by 25 June. A copy of the rules is attached so please read these so you are aware of the details.
We do hope that many of you will get involved and help with the selection and by submitting images.

Inter-Club PDI Championship
Accorded Photographic Alliance Patronage
Each of the Federations within the Photographic Alliance will select by whatever means it decides, two clubs to represent it in the Championship, the names of these representative Clubs to be advised on the form provided to Peter Cheetham by late April. In addition the Top Eight Placed Clubs from the previous year will be invited to take part, a possible total of 38 Clubs.
In the first round each club will enter 8 images, 1 image from each Club will be shown sequentially until all images have been projected. In the second round each club will enter 8 different images, 1 image from each club will be shown sequentially until all images have been projected. The total scores from rounds one and two will be added together and the top eight clubs will proceed to the final. The remaining clubs will compete in the Plate Competition, in which each club will submit 8 images, of which 4 may have been entered in previous rounds. 1 image from each club will be shown sequentially until all images have been projected. The eight clubs contesting the final will submit 20 images of which 10 may have been entered in previous rounds. 1 image from each club will be shown sequentially until all images have been projected.
Images entered must be entirely the work of the photographer. Composite images are permitted provided all component images meet this requirement.
No author may be represented by more than 2 images in Rounds One and 2 images in Round Two, and 2 images in the Plate Competition, and 4 images in the Final.
No club may enter more than 25% (2) Natural History Images in Rounds One and Two and the Plate Competition, and 20% (4) Natural History Images in the Final. See the PAGB website for the PAGB definition of NATURE.
Any image or similar image thereof, which has been projected at any previous PAGB Inter- Club Slide Championship or Colour Slide Club Championship, is ineligible. This includes digital copies of slides.
Each club may select its images for each round from a bank of a maximum of 40 images. The CD containing the 40 entries, a list of the 40 images and the first round 8 image entry form are to be with Roy Thomas, by (date to be advised). A total listing of all 40 images to be sent to Peter Cheetham by the same date.
Any club failing to provide its completed title sheet at the start of any round will be deemed to have forfeited that round.
In the case of a tie between clubs in the Final, each club will be asked to submit a further 5 images for judging. These must not have been used in the preceding rounds; only 1 may be a Nature Image, and not more than 1 image from any one author. In the case of the Plate Competition each club will be asked to submit a further 3 images for judging. These must not have been used in the preceding rounds; only 1 may be a Nature Image, and not more than 1 image from any one author.
Photographers may only support one nominated club of which they must be bona fide members, and each competing club must sign a declaration to this effect.
Photographers, who are members of more than one club, in different Federations, may only support one club in any one event.
At least one representative of each participating club are expected to be present or other persons appointed by that club who will coordinate their entry in Round Two, The Plate Competition or Final.
The PAGB cannot accept responsibility for damage to or loss of any image(s).
In any dispute the decision of the PAGB will be final.
The PAGB reserves the right to allow reproduction without fee of any image in connection with the event.
The PAGB will use the images from the CD’s of the Champion, Runner-Up and the Third and Fourth placed clubs together with the Best Image of the Championship and the Judges selected images for their individual awards for publicity connected with the event and with other entered images to form a portfolio of images for loan to affiliated clubs.
That by entering the competition the clubs accepts these rules.
THE DIGITAL FILE RULES WILL BE SENT TO COMPETING CLUBS AFTER THE CLOSING DATE FOR NOMINATIONS.
