We have use of the Sovereign Room which is large enough for our stands and also has a flat screen TV to enable us to show a selection of your DPIs as well. Access is directly from Castle Meadow so we should hopefully get a really diverse selection of visitors and of course we hope to be able to stimulate interest in the younger generation who might come and see what we do.
We now need each of our members to provide us with
8 prints on 50x40cms mounts plus
6 DPIs 1400 x 1050 resolution for the slide show. – See latest note from Open below
P.S. There has now been an update from Open regarding their plasma screen –
The Plasma screen requires images of up to 1280 x 720. 1280 x 720 is great for letterbox type shots, but for 4:3 format users that would mean that their images should be 960 x 720 px
and for 3:2 formats 1080 x 720px –
Regardless of width, portrait/vertical images would be no higher than 720 px.
Hope this makes sense? It might be worth making a couple of folders on your memory sticks to give the different aspect ratios.
Details of how to mount your prints for exhibition are on our website . Here you can find mounting and labelling details including a print template so that we can standardise our print labels. But you can always ask me, or any of the committee, if you are not sure. Prints can be on any subject, it is your choice what you put forward for the exhibition.
We will also require help in setting up, taking down and stewarding the exhibition. The exhibition lasts 5 days and we really need at least three stewards per day doing either a 3 hour morning or afternoon stint or if you want all day!
There will be no requirement for you to do anything other than engage with our visitors and answer their questions about NPG, the work of the members or anything photographic they might wish to know. The hours for stewarding are 10.00 to 1.00 and 1.00 to 4.00 from 1st to 5th August a.m and p.m so please let me know as soon as possible if you are willing to volunteer for any of the days – morning or afternoon, giving the date and time when you are available. A rota will be produced once we have our volunteers.

AND ANYONE ELSE WHO IS AROUND AND COLLECTING THEIR PRINTS
We will be setting up early on 1 August at around 8.00 to 8.30 a.m so that we can open at 10.00 a.m. On the final Saturday we will be closing at 3.30 p.m so we would be grateful for help here again. If you can assist with any of these tasks that will be extremely helpful.
We would like to collect your prints/DPIs at the AGM on 13 July 2017, however if you are not able to make this date then a further collection point and date will be arranged so that no one misses the opportunity to exhibit. You will need to liaise with me if you need to use this extra date.
Most of the committee will be at the meeting on 29th June, so if you have any questions or require any further information please find us on the night for any clarification you need.
