If there are any members interested in entering in this exhibition please let me know as the church trust need to know soon. See note below,
Dear Photographic Group
I am writing to you on behalf of the Norwich Historic Churches Trust. The Trust cares for 18 of the medieval churches in Norwich City Centre, keeping them in repair and finding new uses for them. More details can be found on our website http://www.norwich-churches.org .
The trust always opens its churches during the annual Heritage Open Days event, this year from 10th to 13th September 2015.
This year we will be using All Saints Church (opposite John Lewis Department Store) for a display about some of our work.
We would like to invite you ( as a group or individuals) to submit images for an exhibition at the same time in All Saints Church. The theme we would like images for is “Churches in the Cityscape of Norwich.” So we are looking for images showing more than just the church in its churchyard, instead we are seeking images showing the role of the churches in creating the sense of place that is historic Norwich.
We are looking for up to 12 images from each local photographic group we have invited, and would prefer a number of photographers to be contributing. The images will be judged both as a panel and also the best single image representing the theme, with a £50 prize for each.
We will provide display boards if required (mounting by velcro tags) or your group would be welcome to use its own. There will be no charge for entering, and prints will be returned after the exhibition, unless a photographer should wish to donate a photograph to our collection. Copyright remains with the photographer, though we do ask to use images in conjunction with publicity relating to the exhibition.
We are totally flexible as to presentation, be it mounted in standard 40cm x 50cm mounts or something smaller, though the longest dimension of a print should not normally be smaller than 20cm.
Prints may be colour or monochrome.
There will be the opportunity for you to display material about your group – something which might be useful at the start of the “season” for meetings.
I would appreciate it if you can consult your members and let me know if you wish participate, preferably by 20th July. I anticipate mounting the display on either 6th or 8th September.
