External Competitions:

This is a list of the External Competitions etc that the Group is likely to submit to.
YOUR SUPPORT IS REQUESTED AT ANY OR ALL OF THESE EVENTS.

Saturday 8th November 2008 - East Anglian Shield:

To be held at The Community Centre Needham Market, Suffolk commencing at 6.00p.m.
3 Prints and 3 Slides.
Tickets £4.50
Entry Form by 30th September.

Ticket requests together with remittance to the Chairman please by 10th October.
(The ticket price includes a small buffet supper. If you would like to attend please also let the Chairman know if you require the vegetarian option).

For 2009 please note:
Work must be collected by end of May (end of our season) – with the proviso that any current work that any member may wish to submit may be considered up to 2nd week in September.

Monday 1st December 2008:
Print Battle against Buxton at Buxton Village Hall (opposite the Church)

Work required by 31st. October.
Please note that this is a print battle only and no more than 2 prints per author.
Therefore we need all members to participate.

Judge: Derek Leak from Lowestoft.
Prints must be mounted but may be of any size or subject matter.

Saturday 17th January, 2009 CAMBRIDGE DIGITAL COMPETITION:

to be held at Whittlesford Village Hall, Nr. Cambridge, commencing at 2,00pm. Cost to be advised.
The Judge will be Don Byatt ARPS MPAGB EFIAP

We can now confirm that our application to enter has been accepted.

Five images – Must be:
1 People
1 Natural History
1 Landscape
the remaining two may be of any subject
A sixth image (any subject) is required as a reserve
Total of 6 IMAGES

Instructions issued by Cambridge Camera Club for the preparation of digital image files must be followed and are available here.
These will be familiar to members who have used our own guidelines for submitting exhibition images to the website, and can be summarised as:

Work is required by 14th. November at the latest as our CD entry MUST be received at CCC by 1st. December.
Definitions of People – a picture where the principal subject is either a person or group of people. Includes formal and informal portraits, figure studies, groups and people in action.
Definition of Natural History – Standard rules apply.

27th February 2009 - 4 Way Digital Image Battle:

Subject matter open.
15 images per club and a maximum of 3 images per photographer.

Images should be 1024 longest x 768 at 72 ppi. in tif format.
Please provide accurate titles. CD required by mid November.
Latest date for work 31st. October.

The Clubs participating are 4 of these - Ilkeston, Merville, March, Notts. and Norfolk PG.

2nd – 23rd May 2009 - EAF Exhibition at Harlow:

Each member may enter up to four colour prints, four mono prints and four digital images 1400 x 1050 pixels tif format (the choice of images is left entirely to each member) at a cost of 50p. per image.

Print mounts MUST be 40 x 50 cm and no tape etc. on the reverse (plain backed only).
15th. March 2009 latest date to collector (Joy Hancock).

15th February 2009 – EAF Print and Projected image Championships:

at Harlow. The Club will need to consider whether or not to submit an entry as this event is to be held at Harlow which will mean long journeys in the dark both ways at the most inclement time of the year.
