Joan and I went up Northumberland at the end of last month, the weather was variable but we had an excellent sunrise on the Monday morning. as the sunrise was at 8:05 am, even I was willing to get up and take some images! To the north of Banborough Castle there are some rock formations which frame the castle really well. Initially I attempted to create a HDR version of this image, but I was not happy with the final image, instead I used the middle image of the bracket and used Lightroom to improve the RAW file. To capture the detail in the area around the ,sun I put the darker image of the bracket on a layer above the original image and used a layer mask to blend it in. The main challenge was cloning out the other photographers from the scene!
