About us:
History of the Group:
Prior to 1989 a few local members met infrequently to discuss a common interest in photography. In January 1989 numbers had grown sufficiently to form The Mundesley Photography Group. It was at this time that the Group was put on a formal basis and full records kept.
From, the outset the aim of the Group has been one of enjoyment and participation whilst providing the platform for each and every member to expand their interest in and knowledge of photography.
Over the years the Group has become involved in the wider areas of photography competing at local and national level. We have represented the East Anglian Federation at Photographic Alliance of Great Britain competitions in both the slide and print events.
The Group was in the forefront in East Anglia of embracing the digital era whilst retaining its interest in the traditions of photography. We have always taken the view that it is the final image that is important and not the way that it is produced.
All types and styles of photography are welcomed with encouragement given to all members to develop an individual approach to their photography.
Since the early days of its formation the Group has attracted members from throughout Norfolk and indeed neighbouring Counties and in order to reflect this the decision was taken at the end of 2007 to change our name to The Norfolk Photography Group. This we feel better reflects our wider involvement in all matters photographic.
